Near Palermo, in the municipality of Carini, one of the most interesting natural reserves in western Sicily is waiting for you.
Here have been found fossils of ancient animals that populated Sicily from the Upper Paleolithic to the Bronze Age, such as the dwarf elephant.
But the Grotta dei Puntali is also the home of several mammal and bird species, as well as some varieties of bats today in danger of extinction.
