Mamma Maja
Villa
This villa, exclusive, by the sandy beach, is located in the renowned area of Avola where the Caretta Caretta turtles lay their eggs. It means: blue and clean sea. Restored in 2018 we find a living-kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor and a spacious familiar bedroom (double and single) with a stunning sea view on the first floor. The exterior is simply gorgeous with a patio just outside the house, a BBQ area, and a comfortable Jacuzzi by the sea. From the house a door leads to the beautiful sandy beach.
Bedrooms (1) and Bathrooms (1): a bedroom on the first floor with a double and a single bed; a bathroom with shower on the ground floor; a sofa bed on the ground floor

Closest Market: 3 kms - Closest restaurant: 3 kms - Closest Piazza (or center):3 kms
Great location for this exclusive villa: 50 meters away the nest of the Caretta Caretta turtles that every year will come to lay their eggs!
Avola is almost 3 kms away and is a very nice town with well maintaned sandy beaches.
Don't forget to visit Cavagrande del Cassibile(photo), the so called Sicilian Paradise a deep canyon where you can find ancient dwellings carved on the rock, lakes, gorges and a very lush vegetation.
Syracuse (photo), the wonderful and powerful town of the past (V b.C.) is at about 15 kms. Here we can admire many impressive monuments of the past as, for instance, the Greek theatre, the Orecchio di Dionisio, the temple of Athena, whose columns, presently, are incorporated inside the Duomo, as aisles and the archaeological museum Paolo Orsi, the biggest and among the most important in the world.
Worth a visit also the museum of Papyrus.
Ortigia is the downtown of Syracuse and is a little island linked to the mainland through two bridges. It’s a unique place, nice and full of life and with a great outdoor market.
Piazza Duomo is the hearth of Ortigia but don’t forget to visit the fonte Aretusa (where still now Papyrus grows), and to have a walk along the promenade.
15 km’s away here it is the capital of Baroque style in the world: Noto.
Just some kilometer from Noto, on top of a hill, here it is the amazing remains of the ancient Noto (Noto Antica), destroyed by the earthquake of 1693 and from where you can also access the Paradiso canyon.
Close by Noto here it is Vendicari, a sort of paradise for birds, birdwatchers, sea lovers, naturalists, archaeologists …
Do you want to see 5.000 tombs carved on the rock, an underground river and a lush forest: welcome to Pantalica , 40 km's away.
Another great place worth a visit is Akray (photo), a Greek site, in Palazzolo Acreide at almost 20 kms away.
Etna, the biggest volcano in Europe (3.300 sqm) is 70 km’s away.
I suggest you to enjoy Mamma's Etna tour, the most requested in Sicily.
That’s all.
Just a last tip: have a pizza or a fish meal in Ortigia.
And don’t forget to taste the granita for breakfast!
