Breathtaking property located in the countryside of Avola, completely immersed in a typical Sicilian landscape with an exciting view of the Ionian Sea and the city of Avola. The property is characterized by two units, both with double bed, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen and large living area with double sofa bed. In both houses we will also find a large terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and have a Sicilian meal! This property has a huge land where you can enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables. From the western side of the garden begins a path that leads down to a canyon where there is also a spring. This charming and genuine Sicilian property is about 3 km from the centre of Avola Antica and about 10 km from Avola. Please note that the last 500 meters of road, are very steep (as you can see clearly through the pictures) so we strongly recommend to have a car not too low.
Bedrooms (2) and Bathrooms (2): each house has a unique environment with double bed and double sofa bed for a total of 8 places.

We are in Avola antica, a village with many beautifull villas enjoyed above all in the summer season by the owners. In Avola antica (that is the site of the anciente Avola destroyed by the 1693 earthquake) we can find markets and restaurants. Avola antica is worldwide renowned to be the settlement of Cavagrande del Cassibile (photo), the so called Sicilian Paradise a deep canyon where you can find ancient dwellings carved on the rock, lakes, gorges and a very lush vegetation.
Avola is almost 5 kms away and is a very nice town with well maintaned sandy beaches.
Syracuse (photo), the wonderful and powerful town of the past (V b.C.) is at about 15 kms. Here we can admire many impressive monuments of the past as, for instance, the Greek theatre, the Orecchio di Dionisio, the temple of Athena, whose columns, presently, are incorporated inside the Duomo, as aisles and the archaeological museum Paolo Orsi, the biggest and among the most important in the world.
Worth a visit also the museum of Papyrus.
Ortigia is the downtown of Syracuse and is a little island linked to the mainland through two bridges. It’s a unique place, nice and full of life and with a great outdoor market.
Piazza Duomo is the hearth of Ortigia but don’t forget to visit the fonte Aretusa (where still now Papyrus grows), and to have a walk along the promenade.
15 km’s away here it is the capital of Baroque style in the world: Noto.
Just some kilometer from Noto, on top of a hill, here it is the amazing remains of the ancient Noto (Noto Antica), destroyed by the earthquake of 1693 and from where you can also access the Paradiso canyon.
Close by Noto here it is Vendicari, a sort of paradise for birds, birdwatchers, sea lovers, naturalists, archaeologists …
Do you want to see 5.000 tombs carved on the rock, an underground river and a lush forest: welcome to Pantalica , 40 km's away.
Another great place worth a visit is Akray (photo), a Greek site, in Palazzolo Acreide at almost 20 kms away.
Etna, the biggest volcano in Europe (3.300 sqm) is 70 km’s away.
I suggest you to enjoy Mamma's Etna tour, the most requested in Sicily.
Just a last tip: have a pizza or a fish meal in Ortigia.
And don’t forget to taste the granita for breakfast!
