Stylish and luxury Sicily villa in Catania area, exactly located in the renowned town of Viagrande. The villa is the result of the sharing between a traditional “palmento” (a ‘800 building used to make the wine) and a new and stylish cubbage. The palmento hosts one double bedroom with ensuite batroom; a twin with a close by private bathroom; and an exclusive suite with living room, a double bedroom and a private bathroom (this last room is hosted where once stood the tanks where the wine was tamped). From the door close by the jazz painting (take a look at the pictures !) you can access the ground level, where we can find a fully equipped and romantic kitchen, a bathroom and a sophisticated living room with glass windows overlooking the pool area and with the foreground view of Etna volcano. An army of white roses painting the eastern side of the garden, that extends more than 2.000 square meters. Have a nice holidays to Sicily !

Viagrande was the place were, in the past, aristocratic families used to spend their summer holidays.
This is way, presently, we can still admire wonderful properties along this small and charming town, full of lush vegetation.
I suggest you two walkings: Monte Serra (photo), an extinct crater of the past, where you can enjoy the Butterfly museum or where one can have a pic-nic in the nice park or climb up to the top; and the public garden of Viagande, a great spot for pets, adults and children.
We are in the eastern side of Sicily, and two masterpieces dominate the landscapes: the sea and Etna volcano, joined by something bigger thant them: the blue Sicilian sky!
Etna Park (Unesco’s), with its inactiv volcanos (the sons of Etna), caves, forests, lava grounds … lasts 10 km’s.

Catania (photo) is10 km's away. I suggest you to park the car in Piazza Alcalà than have a walk: let's start from the worldwide famous Pescheria (outdoor fish market), then to Piazza Duomo (the hearth of Catania) and from it take the Via Etnea, the main street of the town, a pedestrian walking full of shops, cafe and wonderful buldings in Baroque style. Let's walk for about a kilometer, visiting the Roman amphitheatre (in Piazza Stesicoro) until arrive to the Villa Bellini (Catania's public garden).
The Playa (beach) lasts 10 km’s and is close by Piazza Duomo. In this area there are many lido (private beaches where you can rent umbrellas, deckchairs, have a meal in a cafe ...) and I suggest you to enjoy the Lido Verde, partner of MammaSicily.
Other places worth a visit are Acitrezza and Acicastello (5 km’s), both fishermen hamlets, where lava flow of millenia ago has modelled the landscape: in Acicastello you can find a stunning castle in lava stone overhanging the sea and in Acitrezza the Faraglioni (photo, sea stacks).
Taormina (photo of Isolabella), the pearl of Sicily, is almost 30 km’s away: it’s a magic place with the amazing Isolabella and its narrow streets rich in history, a sort of vintage atmosphere and fashion: cool!
Siracusa (Unesco’s), and its Greek masterpieces it’s almost 60 km’s away.
Another tips is the visit of Pantalica (Unesco’s), with its more than 3000 graves carved on the rock, a river, a forest and a sort of mistery all around.
At a glance: Acireale (Baroque style, 5 km), Savoca (The Godfather movie spot, 40 km), Brucoli (sea village, 40 km), Megara Ibla (archaeology, 50 km), Randazzo (nice town, 40 km), Giardini Naxos (sea, 30 km), Cavagrande del Cassibile (nature, 60 km).
Its time to eat something and my tip is to do not miss the Pasta alla Norma (photo) and to have, at least once, a typical Sicilian breakfast: granita and brioche!
