Mamma Gina
Villa
Mamma Susy is a charming mansion overlooking the sea. The villa is located in a prestigious area of Augusta, in the territory of Syracuse. From the house you can enjoy an incredible landscape, with stunning views of the sea and Mount Etna. The outdoor space includes a large garden that runs all around the house, equipped with all outdoor furniture and with direct access to the sea, a large brick barbecue, nooks and crannies for relaxation, all with incredible 180-degree views of the sea and Mount Etna.
The house, bright, furnished with elegance and simplicity, is fully air conditioned and has all the comforts. The internal composition is another great point of advantage for those who will spend their vacation here; in fact, it consists of two separate apartments, each on one floor, connected by an external staircase. Each apartment has a bright living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, one bathroom with shower and laundry. In one living room there is a double sofa bed. In addition, two more beds are guaranteed by the presence of a dependance detached from the main structure, with additional kitchen and bathroom with shower, private entrance, and outdoor space in front. The ideal composition for two or more families, or two or more groups of friends who want to stay together without sacrificing their privacy.

Mamma Susy is located on the eastern side of Augusta, on the Ionian Sea, in the province of Syracuse. The rocky coastline offers many small coves that allow easy bathing in these crystal clear waters, fantastic for swimming and diving.
This stretch of sea is not frequented by mass tourism because only local homes have direct access. At 1500 meters from the property are supermarket, bar-restaurant, and other services.
What strikes particularly in this area, is the tranquility that you can enjoy, while you are in symbiosis with nature, represented in this case by the expanse of the sea and the sky, day and night. In fact, at sunset, other panoramic sceneries open up that are as intoxicating as those that can be enjoyed in the daylight, if not more so.
The center of Augusta is about 2 km away, and it is possible to take advantage of all the services that you may need during your stay. Among other things, in Augusta you can also admire some places of primary interest, including the Spanish Gate, and even more ancient, the Swabian Castle.
A good suggestion is to visit Megara Hybla (foto,10 km), a Greek settlement with large ruins. Another Unesco site: Pantalica (20 km), 5,000 tombs carved into the rock, a breathtaking place where nature, landscape and archaeology work together.
We are in the eastern side of Sicily, the homeland of Etna volcano the biggest one in Europe: lava flows, caves, forests...
I suggest you to enjoy our Etna tour
We are in the halfway between Catania and Syracuse, both 30 kms away.
In Catania I suggest you to park the car in Piazza Alcalà and then have a walk starting from the worldwide famous Pescheria (photo, outdoor fish market), then to Piazza Duomo (the hearth of Catania) then walking the Via Etnea, the main street of the town, a pedestrian road with many shops, cafe and wonderful buldings in Baroque style. In via Etnea there is also the Roman amphitheatre (in Piazza Stesicoro) and the Villa Bellini (Catania's public garden).
Siracusa (photo, Unesco’s), and its Greek masterpieces it’s almost 30 km’s away.
The downtown of Siracusa is the wonderful island of Ortigia : a masterpiece of beauty.
The nice Syracuse, among the most visited towns of Sicily
Another tips is the visit of Pantalica (Unesco’s, 30 kms), with its more than 3000 graves carved on the rock, a river, a forest and a sort of mistery all around.
Taormina, the pearl of Sicily, is almost 70km’s away: it’s a magic place with the amazing Isolabella (photo) and its narrow streets rich in history, a sort of vintage atmosphere and fashion: cool!
If you are nature lovers, here there are two great places: Vendicari (foto, 50 kms) and Cavagrande del Cassibile (30 kms) where nature, archeology and birds live together in perfect harmony.
You are in the Sicily of Baroque style, so you can't miss the amazing Noto (40 kms) an Unesco's world heritage.
Its time to eat something and my tip is to do not miss the Pasta alla Norma and to have, at least once, a typical Sicilian breakfast: granita and brioche!
Of course, we suggest you to enjoy our Silvana's Cooking Class, just few kilometers away from the villa.
And, of course, fish, fish, fish …
