MAMMA'S ANGELS TIP (by Luca, who will welcome you at this villa): I think that the big kitchen is the highlight of this place. Santo, the owner, is a good guy with a noble heart. In Naro there is a real Sicilian trattoria (restaurant) where to enjoy a good and cheap meal. Ask Santo for more details. Write Luca if you need more tips: firstname.lastname@example.org

In the southern side of Sicily here it is Naro, a very ancient place, dwelt since the prehistoric times.
In Naro you can admire many amenities, among the others: the wonderful Chiaramontano Castle (1300) perhaps the most famous monument of Naro; on the acropolis, next to the Castle, stands, solemn and majestic, the old Norman Duomo(1086); the public library Feliciana with its precious patrimony of around 13,000 volumes; the church of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria (1366) the most artistic example of the Norman period architecture, a fine jewel of Gothic-Norman style; the catacombs of Donnaligara-Canale.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you come here in Naro.
Agrigento and its Temples Valley (Unesco’s) is almost 20 km’s away: in my opinion it is one of the seven wonders world !
The most beautiful Roman mosaics in the world (Roman Villa of Piazza Armerina, Unesco’s) last 50 km’s.
The beach is 15 km’s away and you can make a choice between San Leone and Palma.
And now, let’s sit around a table: it’s time for food.
Our cuisine is rich and tastefully.
Our women stil now prepare the Pasta like our ancestors did.
So my suggestion is to taste the maccaruna or the sucameli (two kinds of home-made pasta) stuffed with pork ragù, breadcrumb, and pecorino cheese.
Another delicious dish is the Maccu, a sort of fava beans soup.
Do you want to taste something really ancient ? Here it is the pani cunzatu (bread with oil, salt, black pepper …).
Let’s finish with the sweets: taste the sfinci (with honey), the cubbaita (with almonds) and the worldwide renowned cannoli alla ricotta.
