I live in the most beautiful town in the world, a bit because it is said by the great writer Elio Vittorini and a bit because of its architectonical and naturalistic beauties, its blue sea, its golden beaches, and its typical vegetation that grows on the dune. Here we lives peacefully and friendly, giving the visitors our proverbial Sicilian ospitality.
Scicli is the spot of many movies, among others the well-known fiction Inspector Montalbano. I suggest you to admire our Baroque style (Unesco’s), the old settlement of Chiafura (dwelling carved on the rocks) and to penetrate the typical stone alleys. Also, don't forget to visit one of the three hills that overlooking Scicli. In a whole day you can tour all our town.
If you love the sea we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Donnalucata, Sampieri, Cava d’Aliga.
Modica and Ragusa (both Unesco’s for Baroque style) lasts almost 10 km’s.
The temples’ valley (Unesco’s) almost 100 and Syracuse (Unesco’s) almost 80.
If you love nature take a tour to: Vendicari (50 km’s, a paradise for birdwatchers), Cava d’Ispica (30 km’s, archeology and nature), the Irminio reserve (5 km’s).
It’s time of food and this is the menu I suggest you: sea fruits, pasta with swordfish, sepia, mullet, squid, teste di turco (the traditional Scicli’s sweet) , almond cookies.
