Romantic holiday to Sicily! Fully immersed in the renowned Sicilian countryside, stands this gorgeous and ancient 1800’s farmhouse. We are in the real Sicily but notwithstanding 40 minutes away from the sea of Cefalù. In this place you can “taste” the colors and the smell of Sicily. Through an original gate you access the romantic outdoor courtyard from where one can access the elegant and bright bedrooms (originally the stables of the farmhouse) each one with  en suite bathroom. Facing the courtyard, under a romantic stone arcade there is the access for for the living room. The professional kitchen is fully equipped. This farmhouse is built with typical local stone. In the exterior you can enjoy many lovely corners, gazebo, and the amazing pool (at around 400 square meters !) overhanging an unforgettable grain landscape. By the pool is the wellness area (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi !). The SPA  is available only in the morning and it has an extra cost of € 50 per person a week. All these amenities are at exclusive disposal of our guests.

Bedrooms (8) and Bathrooms (9): 8 double bedrooms with en-suite (shower) all around the courtyard.

MAMMA'S ANGELS TIP (by Luca, who will welcome you at this villa): The other Sicilian sea: grain fields! Moreover: ask Salvatrice (the wife of Salvatore, the sheperd of this farm) to prepare you a typical Madonita meal.   Write Luca if you need more tips: info@mammasicily.com

We are in the north-western Sicily between the beautiful countryside of grain and the Mediterranean Sea.

Welcome in the Madonie area.

It takes name from the Madonna since there are several shrines along all the area and the most important is the hermitage in Madonna dell'Alto (photo), at 1900 mt. a.s.l., from whose top one can enjoy a great view of the Tyrrenean sea.

Have a trek up on there and ask to be hosted in one of the hermits' rooms!

All the Madonie's town are fascinating and worth a visit: Polizzi Generosa, Castellana Sicula, the two Petralie, Collesano, Isnello, Gratteri, Lascari, Pollina, Castelbuono and the two by the sea: Campofelice, and Cefalù.

You will merge yourself in a different world where the dailylife is quite.

In the Madonie you can breath the nature and enjoy uncontaminated landscapes.

But the mountain has another big benefit: to let you feel God!

The sea, of course, is that one of Cefalù (photo), a Madonita town by the sea where you can admire masterpieces as the Norman Cathedral (XII century) such as the Rocca, a sort of gigantic stone that spreads from the middle of the town and where you can admire a castle, great landscapes, a mysterious stone building.

The wonderful Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is 60 km's away.

If you want to discover a real Sicilian town here it is Resuttano (20 km's), in the very middle of Sicily, surrounded by hills over hills of wheat.

A Greek settlement not to miss is Himera (photo): temples, remains of the town and a beautiful museum.

It's time for food and I suggest you the following menu of the Madone: Pasta con fagioli secchi (dry beans); Pasta with tomato, anchiovies, wild fennel; our local meat; and for sweet the Sfoglio, a cake stuffed with tuma cheese, chocolate, sugar and cinnamon.

A big hug, Salvatore
