casasia-mountain-canalazzo-forest-mammasicily (3)Archeological mountain, at 730 meters above sea level, a center of the ancient Siculi people dating to (X a.C. ?) that today appears well covered by reforestation.

On the slpoes of the mountain you can observe the numerous chamber tombs carved in the soft limestone and sometimes with funerary beds. From the top you can enjoy an exceptional panorama of Lake Dirillo. In the earstern part flows the Amerillo River, which you can easily access and see the old mills, a classic site along many rivers in Sicily.
