Segesta a greek colony of the past, is 40 kms away: theatre, temple and mosquee.
Trapani, a very nice town, with its arabian style architecture, is almost 25 km’s away.
From Trapani departs the ferry for the amazing Egadi islands.
Erice that will get you in the middle ages, is 20 km’s away. This medieval town is said the “town of love”, since here there was an eternal fire, just on top of the mountain, that from the VII B.C. attracted the sailors of the Mediterranean, due to the presence of the “ancelle di Venere” (handmaids of Aphrodite). You can still see the Pozzo di Venere (from where the eternal fire emanated) in the courtyard of the castle. In Erice you can have a walk in the past, along its narrow alleys, the megalithic town walls and … the Ericini (cookies)!!!
Trapani and, above, Erice
