The house is located in the lovely sea hamlet of Cornino, the gate of the Cofano natural reserve and Mangiapane cave (famous for host houses inside its cave walls!).
The bay of Cornino (photo) with its wonderful beaches is one of the most beautiful in Sicilia.
Trapani, a very nice town, with its arabian style architecture, is almost 10 km’s away.
From Trapani departs the ferry for the amazing Egadi islands.
Erice that will get you in the middle ages, is 10 km’s away. This medieval town is said the “town of love”, since here there was an eternal fire, just on top of the mountain, that from the VII B.C. attracted the sailors of the Mediterranean, due to the presence of the “ancelle di Venere” (handmaids of Aphrodite). You can still see the Pozzo di Venere (from where the eternal fire emanated) in the courtyard of the castle. In Erice you can have a walk in the past, along its narrow alleys, the megalithic town walls and … the Ericini (cookies)!!!
Trapani and, above, Erice
A visit to the renowned San Vito Lo Capo (15 km) cannot be missed: golden beaches, excellent couscous and the spectacular Zingaro nature reserve (photo), a world of golden coves, caves and panoramas.
